In June 2026, Cofinair by Decsa completed the installation of a new evaporative condenser at closed-circuit at the Centrale del Latte di Roma S.p.A. plant, replacing an existing equipment unit that was not manufactured by the company.
The project was initiated following a joint technical analysis conducted by the Regional Area Manager and the Engineering & Maintenance Team at Centrale del Latte di Roma S.p.A., which made it possible to identify areas for improvement in the “ coils ” and define the safest and most effective strategy for further raising the standards of continuity and reliability of the refrigeration system.

In July 2025, Centrale del Latte di Roma Spa contacted Decsa to request extraordinary maintenance on the closed-circuit evaporative condensers installed at its plant, which were manufactured by another company. Following on-site inspections and assessments conducted by the regional Area Manager, it became clear that the heat exchang coils s had reached the end of their natural life cycle, affecting the efficiency and optimal performance of the tube bundles.
The situation found led the technicians to rule out a simple revamping process involving chemical cleaning—a strategic decision aimed at avoiding excessive stress on the components and at not compromising the overall integrity of the equipment.
In light of the conditions observed, Decsa and the client therefore determined that replacing the equipment was the most reliable solution to ensure long-term performance, safety, and operational continuity.
Following technical evaluations and several site visits, the customer decided to proceed with replacing two existing equipment units with a new Decsa (Cofinair) evaporative condenser.
The project involved the supply and installation of an closed-circuit CFR-C-212 evaporative cooler, configured according to the specific needs of the system and the customer’s requirements.
To ensure reliable operation that is suited to the plant’s operating conditions, the equipment has been equipped with a range of accessories and specific solutions:
- PTC sensors on electric motors
- Electric heater
- Control thermostat for the tank's electric heating element
- Vibration switch
- Minimum-level control
- Intake silencer
- Outlet silencer
- DecsaCOATING PLUS interior and exterior coatings
The configuration of the equipment made it possible to meet the customer's specific needs by combining reliability, component protection, operational control, and noise reduction.
To ensure the project is carried out properly, Centrale del Latte di Roma Spa has also decided to use the Decsa’s support service during installation.
The service includes the presence of a qualified Decsa technician, who is responsible for supervising the work, assisting with assembly, and verifying that the equipment has been installed correctly.
The project began in 2025 with the first site inspections and technical analyses of the existing equipment.
Following the evaluations and technical analyses, the solution was approved by the client in April 2026.
Production and project planning thus made it possible to proceed with the installation of the new equipment in June 2026, in accordance with the client’s requested timeline.
The project enabled Centrale del Latte di Roma Spa to replace two outdated units with a new Decsa solution, designed and configured to meet the facility’s specific needs.
The project also serves as a concrete example of the Cofinair approach, which combines the supply of new equipment with service expertise—from the initial diagnosis to the selection of a solution, right through to the supervision of the installation.
