TMX is the first cross-flow cooling tower designed by the Cofinair Group for HVAC applications, industrial process cooling , and the data center market , where low power consumption and quiet operation are required.
Due to their design, TMX cross-flow cooling towers offer lower pressure drops than cooling towers ; for this reason, they are equipped with smaller electric motors, ensuringlower electricity consumption for the same cooling capacity.
Furthermore, compared to counter-flow cooling towers, in TMX cross-flow cooling towers, the air enters at a lower velocity, significantly reducing noise levels.
These features, combined with the special block-type evaporative pack andthe greatly simplifiedinspection and maintenance made possible by easy-access doors, help make the TMX cooling tower a major benchmark in the evaporative cooling market.
The TMX cooling tower is equipped with a Z-725 hot-dip galvanized steel frame and Z-725 hot-dip galvanized steel or FRP panels. The panels include access doors to the tower that allow personnel to perform maintenance and inspection of internal components in complete comfort, working while standing in a large, spacious interior area. As an option, the tower can be constructed entirely of AISI 304 or 316 stainless steel.
The tank for collecting the cooled water is made of Z-725 hot-dip galvanized steel sheet. The tank is sloped to prevent water stagnation and the accumulation of foreign matter (anti-Legionella) and includes the cooled water outlet fitting with an easily inspectable anti-vortex filter, the drain and overflow fitting, and the makeup water fitting complete with a float valve.
The TMX is equipped with ablock-type fill pack , including the air intake section and drift eliminators. The fill pack different heights depending on equipment thermal capacity equipment is made of PVC laminates. Depending on the required thermal capacity, the TMX can be configured with one or two stacked heat exchange sections, providing high thermal capacity without increasing the footprint.
The latest-generation axial fans used in TMX cross-flow cooling towers optimize the L/G ratio within the unit, resulting in improved cooling capacity and reduced operating costs. The motor used, which has a lower power rating than those in counter-flow cooling towers, ensures lower electricity consumption (for the same cooling capacity). All cooling towers can also be supplied with low-noise fans.
The special DecsaCOATING PLUS exterior and interior epoxy powder coating , available in all colors of the RAL scale, further protects the equipment by providing a high level of protection of the galvanized plate, resulting in cost savings compared to a comparable AISI 304 cooling tower.

TMX is an open circuit cross-flow cooling tower open circuit in Italy that delivers high performance efficiency, low noise levels, and easy routine maintenance.
Compared to other cross-flow towers currently on the market, the TMX stands out for its division into three independent sections (water collection tank, heat exchange section, and fan section) and for its even more simplified maintenance thanks to the fill packs .
Designed to ensure low energy consumption, the TMX is ideal for air conditioning applications and the process industry, where the goal is to achieve energy-efficient thermodynamic performance and low noise levels.
Decsa, as a manufacturer of cooling towers in Italy and around the world, has designed the TMX cross-flow cooling tower, which, by its very nature, has lower power consumption and a smaller noise impact than cooling towers . In addition, the TMX cooling tower ensures a low environmental impact, reduced noise emissions, and is adaptable to a wide range of applications.
The TMX cross-flow cooling tower, for the same evaporative cooling capacity, requires smaller motors than cooling towers , significantly reducing electricity consumption. Furthermore, by using a gravity-fed water distribution system, the end customer will be able to use less electricity to supply water to the tower.
In TMX cooling towers, air enters at a lower velocity, making this type of cooling tower quieter than cooling towers . Furthermore, the option of using quiet axial fans further reduces noise levels.
Inspection and maintenance of the TMX series are simplified by the inclusion of large doors that allow maintenance personnel to easily access the interior of the tower. Furthermore, unlike other cross-flow cooling towers, the modular evaporative packs (air inlet, pack, and drift eliminators) further simplify routine maintenance. For the double-deck TMX configuration, an internal safety platform is provided as standard to allow for easy inspection of the fan and electric motor.
