It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Nicola de Cardenas, CEO of Decsa, who left us this weekend after an accident on Mount Etna (Sicily).
We are all deeply shaken and words cannot express how much Nicola will be missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, loved ones and the entire Decsa team at this difficult time.
Nicola was more than a leader, he was a visionary.
His smile, passion for his work, and unwavering commitment to leading and inspiring others made him a truly extraordinary person.
Joining Decsa in 1992, Nicola took over leadership of the company in 2004, carrying on the legacy of his father, Dr. Gianluca de Cardenas, with pride and determination.
Under his leadership, Decsa not only embraced innovation and sustainability, but also became a symbol of excellence within the Cofinair Group, which it joined in 2022, as well as the group's executive committee. Nicola's passion for people and progress was the driving force behind Decsa's success.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her kindness, wisdom and boundless energy.
